 St. Teresa's
prayer is so true. We are Christ to the world, His Hands, His Feet, His
Compassion, His love. Our hands are holy hands, anointed to offer
healing, restoration, and inner transformation to those who are hurting
and deeply wounded.
A great tragedy within the Body of
Christ, is when we refer deeply
wounded people to secular therapists and counselors, who themselves are
not deeply committed Christians and have no sense of the importance of
spirituality.
We
are called to " ...bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to
the
captives and freedom to prisoners; to proclaim the favorable year of the Lord and
the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn, to grant
peace to those who mourn in Zion, giving them a garland instead of
ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning... so they will be
called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He may be
glorified." Isaiah 61.
